Building Towards a Decentralized Data Economy: Acentrik joins the Gaia-X Hackathon and Minimal Viable Gaia-X (MVG) Demonstrator powered by Ocean Protocol
Acentrik joins the Gaia-X Hackathon and the Minimal Viable Gaia-X (MVG) Demonstrator powered by Ocean Protocol. Acentrik will be featured within the “Compute-to-Data & DLT” hack track hosted by Ocean Protocol and deltaDAO AG to feature privacy-preserving and data sovereignty features for enterprises in a decentralized operating environment.
Acentrik is a decentralized data marketplace built on Web3 networks, to provide the right tools and solutions for enterprises to harness and monetize their data. Powered by Blockchain Technology and utilizing Ocean Protocol, Acentrik is fully compatible with the Minimal Viable Gaia-X (MVG) demonstrator and the Gaia-X Test Network.
In the Gaia-X Hackathon, Acentrik demonstrates that individual enterprises and data spaces can be built on top of an open-source backbone infrastructure, ensuring interoperability with the nature of the platform being a decentralized application (dApp).
Being blockchain network agnostic and multi-chained, this opens more opportunities of utility for enterprises — should they want to create their own networks to integrate with the platform or achieve compatibility with other decentralized networks.
During the Hackathon, by publishing a data asset on the Gaia-X Test Network, Acentrik also displayed the possibility of having encrypted metadata, establishing confidentiality in service offerings and descriptions. This is achieved by exercising access controls on the metadata of the data assets, showing a strong use case for enterprises in the Gaia-X Community.
The MVG was developed by deltaDAO AG, showcasing Gaia-X Federation Services built on Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT), such as the Gaia-X Portal, Gaia-X Federated Catalogue (FC), Data Contract Service (DCS) and Data Exchange Logging Service (DELS). deltaDAO demonstrated that Ocean Protocol provides most valuable features for the Gaia-X core functionality today, enabling a decentralized data economy in line with the Gaia-X vision: an open, transparent, decentralized digital ecosystem, where data and services can be made available, collated, shared, and monetized in an environment of trust.
